Mini- Leadership Workshop

On Friday, March 25th students at Highland Elementary participated in a leadership workshop. The workshop was a huge success. Students participated in leadership activities to enhance their leadership skills. The focus was on building character education. Students wrote with toothpaste a word that described them, and then had to place the toothpaste back into their tube. Students quickly learned that toothpaste could not go back into that tube. Just like toothpaste cannot be placed back into the tube, our words that we say cannot be taken back. Students learned a lot about good character. They even wrote something nice or special about everyone single student in the workshop.  I think the students really enjoyed it! We talked about how character education was more about just being a good person. It was knowing what was right, desiring what was right, and doing what was right. Students were able to reflect on themselves as a person, leader, friend, child, big brother or sister and student. Even though we got a little messy with the toothpaste we had a great time. It was great to see the students learning and building those leadership skills!
